    2007中国常州先进制造技术成果展示洽谈会成功举办。洽谈会以“经科教连动、产学研结合、院所企共赢”为主题，邀请中科院35家院所、清华大学等32所高校参会，展出最新科技成果639项，现场签约57项，合作意向327项，常州1400多家企业参加了活动。
Science & Technology Cooperation
2007 China (Changzhou) Advanced Manufacturing Technology Achievements Fair was successfully held in Changzhou. With the theme of “interaction in economy, science and education, integration of production, learning and research and common-win for university, institute and enterprise”, this fair invited 35 institutes of Chinese Academy of Sciences and 32 universities including Tsinghua University; represented 639 projects of the latest science and technology achievements, among which 57 were signed on site and 327 received cooperative intentions. Over 1400 enterprises attended the fair.

【工业经济“大连跨”】
    我市工业总产值于2003年突破2000亿元，2005年突破3000亿元，2006年突破4000亿元，而2007年则突破5000亿元，达到5250亿元。从2005年以来基本上每年跨上一个千亿元台阶。
“Continuous Leap” of Industrial Economy
Gross industrial output value of Changzhou exceeded RMB 200 billion in 2003, surpassed RMB 300 billion in 2005, broke through RMB 400 billion in 2006, exceeded RMB 500 billion in 2007 and reached RMB 525 billion. Since 2005, the gross industrial output value has basically maintained an annual increase of RMB100 billion.

【“海归”集聚工程】
    2007年，我市实施“千名海外人才集聚工程”，共引进218名优秀海外人才，其中领军型海归创业人才58名，首批引进的领军型海归人才项目有18个顺利落户。
Gathering Project of Returned Overseas Students
In the year of 2007, the city implemented the “Gathering Project of One Thousand Overseas Talents”, and totally introduced 218 outstanding overseas talents, including 58 leading returned overseas talents. Besides, 18 among them had settled in Changzhou smoothly.

【运河南移工程】
    南移后的京杭运河常州市区段，是苏南地区第一条高等级现代化的三级航道，全长26公里，航道口宽90米，底宽60米，水深3.2米，全线新建桥梁11座，并同步实施绿色通道建设，形成一条17公里“一河、一路、三林带”的美丽景观。
Grand Canal Moving-southward Diversion Project
After moving southward, the Jinghang Grand Canal Changzhou section becomes the first high-level modern third class fairway, which is 26 kilometers long, 90 meters wide, 60 meters in bottom width and 3.2 meters in depth. Besides, 11 bridges were newly built along the whole mileage as well as the construction of “green channel” to feature a beautiful 17-kilometer landscape with “one river, one road and three forest strips”.
