【“西半天现象”】
金坛市尧塘镇西半天村，在结对的省级民营企业的资助下，逐步走上生活富裕、村容整洁、乡风文明之路，全村普及了大病医疗保险，60岁以上的老人享受生活补贴。“西半天现象”引起了广泛关注。金坛市已有42家民营企业与32个村实现结对共建，共同推进社会主义新农村建设。
“Xibantian Phenomenon”
Funded by the assisting private enterprise at provincial level, Xibantian Village of Yaotang Town, Jintan of Changzhou, has gradually stepped on the road of rich life, clean environment and advanced cultures. Besides, medical insurance for severe diseases have been popularized in the village; and senior villagers over 60 years old enjoy living allowance. “Xibantian Phenomenon” has attracted social wide attention. Currently, 42 private enterprises in Jintan have built assistance relations with 32 villages.

【公园敞开】
到2007年，常州市区共有26座公园，其中已有23座免费向市民开放；还有一座正在改建整修，完工后也将免费敞开。市民普遍认为“公园免费敞开，就是让百姓分享发展成果。”
Park Opened Free to the Public
As of 2007, total 26 parks in urban area, including 23 parks were opened free to the public; the rest one was under reconstruction and would be opened free after completion. Park opened free to the public aims to enable the people to share the development achievements, which was generally appraised by the citizens. |

【菜场提升改建】
2007年以来，我市对49个菜市场进行了提升改造，其中完成内部提升24个，实施开工原址改造12个，实施开工搬迁移建13个。提升改造后的菜市场基本达到环境商场化，设施人性化，管理制度化，卫生安全化，价格大众化。
Grocery Market Upgraded & Improved
Since 2007, Changzhou has performed upgrading or improvement to 49 grocery markets, among which 24 have been completed internal upgrading, 12 have been started improvement at original location and 13 have been relocated. Those upgraded or improved grocery markets met the requirements of merchandized environment, people-oriented facilities, systemized management, safe quality, sanitary condition and preferable prices. |
