经济实力明显增强
2007年，全市实现地区生产总值1880亿元，是2002年的2.5倍，按可比价年增长15.2%，按户籍人口计算人均水平超过7000美元；财政总收入414亿元，地方一般预算收入158亿元，分别是2002年的4倍和3.4倍。
Economic Strength Increased Prominently
In the year of 2007, the whole city achieved RMB 188 billion in GDP, 2.5 times than that in 2002, an increase of 15.2% as per comparable price, exceeding USD 7000 as per registered population; realizing fiscal revenue of RMB 41.4 billion Yuan, and local general budget revenue of RMB 15.8 billion Yuan, 4 times and 3.4 times than those in the year of 2002 respectively. |

农业产业化水平不断提高，2007年全市农村经-济总收入4447亿元，高效农业种养面积已占总种养面积的1/3，水稻单产、机械化种植率连续五年位居江-苏省第一。
