新北区—创新高台
    常州新北区位于常州市区北部，拥有常州境内全部的长江-岸线和国家一类开放口岸常州港，沪宁高速、京沪铁路穿区而过，常州机场坐落区内。全区总面积461.9平方公里，户籍人口43万。
    常州新北区是在常州国家高新技术产业开发区的基础上设立的 ，现下辖3个街道，6个乡镇。2007年，全区实现地区生产总值258亿元，财政收入62.71亿元，其中地方一般预算收入27.28亿元，总体实现了全面小康的目标。

Xinbei District — Innovation Platform
Changzhou Xinbei District (Changzhou Hi-Tech District) is situated in the northern part of Changzhou, owns all water fronts of the Yangtze River running within Changzhou territory and Changzhou Port, the state category-1 open port; besides, it is traversed by Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, Beijing-Shanghai Railway, and has Changzhou Airport set in her region. The whole district covers a total area of 461.90 square kilometers and has a population of 430,000.
Xinbei District of Changzhou is set up on the basis of Changzhou National Hi-Tech District, and is administratively divided into 3 sub-district offices, 6 towns and townships. In the year of 2007, the whole district achieved the regional GDP of RMB25.8billion, financial revenue of RMB25.8 billion, including the general budget revenue of RMB2.728 billion, which enabled the district to achieve the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.

    荣获“国家先进高新技术产业开发区”、“国务院侨办引资引智重点联系单位”、“华东地区最佳园区”等桂冠的常州新北区，到2007年，全区累计批准外商投资企业1000余家，其中世界500强企业19家，新批协-议注册外资59.3亿美元，实际利用外资21.4亿美元，投资1000万美元以上项目248个。全区基本形成了机电一体化、电子信息、精细化工和生物医药三大支柱产业和6个高新技术产品群。

Xinbei District has been awarded as National Advanced High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Key Contact Organization for Foreign Capital and Foreign Talents Introduction by the State Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, and the Best Industrial Development Zone in East China.
As of 2007, the whole district has approved more than 1000 foreign invested enterprises, including 19 enterprises invested by Fortune Global 500 Companies, approved contract registered foreign capital of USD5.93 billion, actual utilizations of foreign capital USD2.14 billion. In addition, the number of project each with investment above USD10 million reached 248. The whole district has basically formed three pillar industries, such as electromechanical integration,
electronic information, biological pharmacy and fine chemical industries and six new and hi-tech product groups.
