戚墅堰区—金色“东大门”
    戚墅堰区位于常州市区东部，临近沪宁高速公路，312国道、沪宁铁路、京杭运河横贯境内。戚区下辖1个省级经-济开发区、3个街道办事处，总面积31.58平方公里，户籍人口8.08万。2007年，全区实现地区生产总值30亿元，财政收入12亿元，总体实现了小康社会的建设目标。

 

Qishuyan District—Golden “East Gate”
Situated in the eastern part of Changzhou, Qishuyan district borders Shanghai-Nanjing expressway and is traversed by State Highway No. 312, Shanghai-Nanjing Railway and Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Qishuyan district administrates one provincial economic development zone and 3 sub-district offices, covers total area of 31.58 square kilometers and owns a population of 80,800. In 2007, the district achieved regional GDP of RMB 3 billion and fiscal revenue of RMB 1.2 billion, and achieved the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.

    戚区是常州的东大门，有着独特的区位优势。目前，戚区的加州科技港、万都义乌小商品城、安凯-特镁铜-导线、金穗高科技园液晶显示器、美国GE公司与戚机厂合作大功率柴油机等5个3000万美元以上大项目正顺利推进。继7家高科技企业进驻加州科技港后又有10多家美国企业即将入驻。

As the east gate of Changzhou, Qishuyan district enjoys a unique regional advantage. Currently, 5 large projects each with investment exceeding USD 30 million in Qishuyan district, namely, California Scientific and Technological Port, Wandu Yiwu Small Commodities Mall, NKT magnesium copper cables, LD screen of Jinhui Hi-tech Industrial Park and cooperative project of heavy-duty diesel engine between American GE company and Qishuyan Locomotive & Rolling Stocks Works, are progressed smoothly. Following the existing 7 hi-tech enterprises settled in the California Scientific and Technological Port, over 10 American enterprises are going to settle down here.
